Here are a few tips for concrete patios maintenance:

Keep Patio Clean

Keep concrete patios clean. If not, it will start crumbling sooner and develop holes. Using a garden hose cleaning is the best. Spray away dirt, debris, and other foreign contaminants by renting a power washer once in 2 weeks.  Get rid of bird poop and spills using your hose. If there are grease or food spills, clean the spill immediately. Some pressure washing and stain remover help to eliminate spots.

Use Sealer

Apply sealer to protect your concrete patios from early corroding. It helps in preserving the shine and color. Applying sealer once in 2 or 3 years is recommended. Reapplying sealer should be done properly. Clean the area properly before applying and ensure the sealing area is dry. A wet surface can result in a crack or bubble. If required, apply a second coat.

Use Rugs

People use concrete patios as it is resistant to scratches and furniture damage. However, with time, the sealant is lost, and to avoid it use soft rugs and tops. It safeguards the patio surface. The rugs protect from stains and spills, as well.

Wax or Polish Stamped

A sealant protects the sheen of your patio but does not hurt polish or wax your concrete. Thus, it looks brighter. It helps to combat traffic in large amounts and reduces creating wear patterns.

When your patio has no interaction directly with nature’s elements, it will last longer. You can increase the patio’s life by several years by adding a canvas cover. It will keep your patio looking nicer and cooler.

No Destructive Chemicals

The sealant for concrete patios resists strong elements and normal usage. While the heavy-duty chemicals corrode the sealant and also prematurely eliminate the sheen. Thus, avoid products containing ammonium nitrate and sulfate. They are harmful and will directly attack concrete.
